Diode Resistor Station BDR-M2 protects up to four metallic underground facilities (cable sheaths, multi-thread pipelines and other facilities) which are galvanic unconnected against corrosion.

Design and Operating Mode

Stations are placed in a cabinet with the door and a lock in the cabinet’s front part. Diode Resistor Stations BDRM are cooled through the ventilation holes at the bottom of the cabinet. A mushroom-shaped roof in the upper part of the cabinet prevents snow and rain to get inside the cabinet. All channels of the station are located on the panels mounted in the cabinet. Each Diode Resistor Station M2 has from one to four similar channels. Each channel has 3 trimming resistors with 2 leads for commutation in selecting the total resistance value of a channel, a diode to provide the required current flow, bypassing element to measure with a built-in amperemeter or outer millivoltmeter, a varistor to protect a diode from voltage overload and closing switches to manipulate in setting the channel current. The device works together with a rectifier for cathodic protection system. In BDR-M2 a rectifier distributes the output current among the controlled objects and sets the required protective current for each facility separately. To do this, you should select the appropriate resistance for each channel by moving the closing switches of the adjustable resistors.
